“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death. Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD. God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar. Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than
I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow—
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,
And he sometimes goes so little that there’s none of him at all.
He hasn’t got a notion of how children ought to play,
And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way.
He stays so close behind me, he’s a coward you can see;
I’d think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me!
One morning, very early, before the sun was up,
I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup;
But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head,
Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed.
This is a crazy scene. A tiny car, something like a Fiat Bambino careens down a mountain road with 4 people inside. 1 of them, the driver, is holding up the steering wheel, which is detached from its column. The people are comically frightened. The caption is "Hey, Who's Driving This Thing, Anyway?"
“And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” Jesus stands among His disciples in a shady patio area outdoors talking to this scribe. His disciples wonder at the exchange. Several of them are also engaged in conversations set around the one Jesus is having. We see Jesus from the left rear quarter, where we can see only the back of His head and the side of his face. His hands are expressing His point. The scribe to whom He speaks has a poignant, thoughtful expression.
Psalms 45:2-4 (JPS)
2 (45:3) Thou art fairer than the children of men; grace is poured upon thy lips; therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
3 (45:4) Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, thy glory and thy majesty.
4 (45:5) And in thy majesty prosper, ride on, in behalf of truth and meekness and righteousness; and let thy right hand teach thee tremendous things.
Prayer by Michelangelo

The prayers I make will then be sweet indeed,
If Thou the spirit give by which I pray:
My unassisted heart is barren clay,
Which of its native self can nothing feed:
Of good and pious works Thou art the seed,
Which quickens only where Thou say'st it may;
Unless Thou show to us Thine own true way,
No man can find it: Father! Thou must lead.
Do Thou, then, breathe those thoughts into my mind
By which such virtue may in me be bred
That in Thy holy footsteps I may tread;
The fetters of my tongue do Thou unbind,
That I may have the power to sing of Thee,
And sound Thy praises everlastingly.

Paint this scene: Singapore was like stepping into a dream for Siu-Zi. Everything was new—the clean streets, the orderly gardens, and the friendly smiles of strangers, things she had only ever seen on television. In a modest hotel near a bustling hawker centre, she discovered the tastes and smells of dishes that were both strange and delightful. For a few weeks, she and her family settled into a quiet rhythm. Siu- Zi made tentative friends at a local church, where she listened wide-eyed to stories of many other people who had traveled from far-off lands, seeking freedom and safety. Each tale, woven with hope and resilience, whispered promises of a safer, kinder world. They met missionaries there who said they had been praying for Siu-Zi and her family. Siu-Zi’s grandmother was very moved by their faithfulness, and father was overwhelmed by their gifts of clothing, so they would no longer look like Chinese refugees, but a proper Asian family on holiday, and enough money to continue their journey, a pre-arranged place to stay and a job to do when they got there.
Every night, as the tropical rain tapped gently on the window, Ah Zi lay awake imagining a future free from fear—a future where her father’s faith could shine without the dark threat of government officers taking them away. In Singapore, she learned that sometimes, even in moments of deep loss and uncertainty, God has a mysterious way of planting new seeds of hope and renewing life.

1 Corinthians 12:18-27 KJV But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. (19) And if they were all one member, where were the body? (20) But now are they many members, yet but one body. (21) And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. (22) Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: (23) And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. (24) For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: (25) That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. (26) And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. (27) Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Psalms 19:1-14 KJV To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. (2) Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. (3) There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. (4) Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, (5) Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. (6) His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. (8) The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. (9) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. (10) More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. (11) Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. (12) Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. (13) Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. (14) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Emphasize the word "sure".
A simple cartoon-style propaganda poster drawn with bold, thick marker lines. Use a limited color palette of bright red, dark navy blue, white, and small black outlines. At the top, include a cool, bold propaganda-style font that looks hand-drawn with marker, saying: “FOUR LEGS GOOD, TWO LEGS BETTER!” Make the word “BETTER” much larger and more dramatic. In the center, show a group of white sheep with simple cartoon faces, wide excited eyes, and big happy smiles, cheering together. The sheep should look identical and drawn with simple marker outlines. They are looking at a pig who is walking upright on two legs in a bright spotlight. The pig should be glowing or surrounded by simple marker-drawn light rays to show fake admiration. Add confetti, simple celebration lines, and maybe one sheep holding a small sign. The background should use strong blocks of red and navy blue, like a simple propaganda poster. Include very simple outlines of a barn or farmhouse in the background. Overall style: cute cartoon, clean, bold marker strokes, easy shapes, limited colors, and a brainwashed, energetic vibe.
From the Book of Ruth: "“would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me!” Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her. And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.”"
"The course of my life has now brought me
through a stormy sea, in a frail ship,
to the common port where, landing,
we account for every deed, wretched or holy.

So that now I clearly see
how wrong the fond illusion was
that made art my idol and my king
leading me to want what harmed me.

My amorous fancies, once foolish and happy:
what sense have they, now that I approach two deaths-
the first of which I know is sure, the second threatening.

Let neither painting nor carving any longer calm
my soul turned to that divine love
that to embrace us opened his arms upon the cross." - Michelangelo
