"Lihat, Keumala," ujarnya, "Lautan bukan hanya air, tapi medan pertempuran, sumber kehidupan, dan kunci kedaulatan kita. Pahami arusnya, maka kau akan menguasai taktiknya." Sejak kecil, Keumala Hayati menunjukkan ketertarikan yang luar biasa pada lautan. Di matanya, ombak yang bergulung adalah irama strategi, dan angin laut adalah napas keberanian. Lautan adalah guru pertamanya. Perbincangan mereka semakin dalam. "Ayah, aku melihat kapal-kapal asing itu semakin berani mendekati perairan kita," kata Keumala Remaja dengan tatapan tajam. Sang Laksamana menjawab, "Itulah mengapa kau harus lebih kuat dari mereka. Bukan hanya dengan senjata, tapi dengan ilmu dan keberanian yang tak pernah padam."
